What a fantastic day, we started off at the Double Tree Hilton for Abi’s bridal prep shots and a sip of Champagne of course! What a lovely surprise Abi’s parents gave her; a beautiful classic car to take her to the Zoo. Well a bride should arrive in style!
After the wedding ceremony the days festivities began, a short group shot session led to afternoon tea with scones and jam, best of all I was allowed to partake and I am certainly not one to refuse. With our bellies full, a small group of us went for a ride on the monorail where I managed to capture this lovely shot of Chris resting on his new brides shoulder; it was a moment I just had to catch
On our return I was given an hour to take Abi and Chris for a photo session around the zoo, this is a wedding photographer’s dream, a whole hour! And there are so many picturesque locations! Pocket wizards in hand we found a grass roofed hut. Placing the flash just inside the entrance I got some wonderful shots of Abi looking beautiful, then I brought Chris in for some shots of his own.
When our couple looked ready to head back to their guests we left behind the wonders of the zoo and finished with a shot of the happy couple in front of the Oakfield house.
Speeches ensued and after some laughter, and of course some tears, the whole wedding party were invited for a private safari after closing. With such wonderful lighting and the run of the zoo to ourselves I was able to capture some wonderful shots of the guests enjoying this unique opportunity; and the animals themselves of course!
A wedding breakfast to end all wedding breakfasts comprised of a BBQ, and wine! The guests looked like they were certainly enjoying the day as much as I was!
