The day after Eloise & Martin’s wedding I had my second local wedding. It was just a 2 minute walk from my home in the city centre to the Grosvenor Hotel in Chester for Catherine and Matt’s small but nonetheless exquisite wedding. I had been looking forward to their big day since we had a small meeting in the Library room they would be getting married in a few months before. The Grovsenor is a great location with plenty of opportunities for pictures; the pressure was on as I would only be with the happy couple for a few hours and I wanted to make the most of such a wonderful location.

I arrived with plenty of time to spare so I could photograph the room the reception would be held in; which the Grosvenor staff had set up beautifully. Small weddings can still have an impact and their reception table certainly had that, made ever more so with my Super Wide Angle lens.

Before I knew it Matt and his guests had arrived and the photos began, a few quick shots with Matt and his best man (and brother) Gavin, then off to see Catherine (looking absolutely stunning) before she was due to come down.

No sooner was Catherine walking down the aisle with Mel her father; she was walking back with her new husband and very happy man Matt. Despite only 20 guests in total a sizable group list ensued with some fun shots of Catherine’s prized possessions…her shoes.

I only had a few minutes with them before they were due to head off for the wedding breakfast but I am so happy with the few images I got, the Grosvenor really is a great location for a wedding…..big or small.

Congratulations Catherine and Matt! It was a pleasure and a privilege to spend a few hours with you on such a special day.

Please feel free to comment or share the photos with your friends and family.
