Wedding Photography: Eloise & Martin, Chester
Just two short weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing Elly and Martin’s wedding. I had an uncharacteristically short journey to the bridal preparations, Elly and her bridesmaids were getting ready just a 2 minute drive at the Westminster Hotel in Chester, then a 30 second walk back over to the Queens Hotel over the road (they had a small problem with the room so swapped). Once the room was found, the festivities began. In the chaos, there was a small corner of calm as Martin’s mum was knitting away, which I found fantastic and a must to photograph.
The ceremony at St Bartholomew’s was led by a wonderful service; the priest being a friend of Martin’s from school. This created a nice relaxed ceremony and settled the nerves I’m sure.
The weather could not have been better: bright blue skies and a gentle breeze. With a beautiful back drop of the Cheshire countryside I started to shoot the guest shots then myself and the happy couple went for a short journey to Christleton duck pond for a few shots, poor Martin attracting the distaste of the swans so we swiftly moved on.
The day progressed with a great deal of fun and laughter; I was lucky enough to stay until the end of the day so got to see Elly and Martin’s first dance, a sneaky 30 seconds of ‘Take That’ and then surprising their guests launched into a dance track, brilliant stuff!
