It’s always sad for us when it comes to our last wedding of the year but today’s wedding was far from a sad affair. We had a great opportunity to shoot at a new venue, a beautiful backdrop for a wedding; The Great Hall at Mains in Lancashire.

We met Adrianne and the girls in good spirits; if not a little nervous, at a hotel close by to The Great Hall. Tom was banished to a room out of possible sight at the same hotel thus giving us the opportunity to capture moments as they both got ready for the ensuing celebrations.

A few moments of pure emotion from Adrianne’s father set the tone for the ceremony, a joy to capture as a photographer. As he looked upon his daughter all that mattered at that moment was pride as Adrianne made her vows to Tom; this is what photographing weddings is all about for us. Preserving those moments, memories and emotions is an integral part of telling the unique story of our clients.

Once the ceremony was over we headed outside for the group shot, then back inside once the heavens opened for the smaller groups. Whilst waiting for the rain to stop we made the most of  it by photographing the details of the room as the staff at the Hall made light work and skilfully decorated the tables. As soon as there was a break in the rain out we went for some time alone with the newly weds. It turned out to be a good omen; as the rain made way for a rainbow which I captured just in time before it vanished into the deep blue and dramatic skies.

Our time ended with our happy couple as they entered the dance floor. For a few minutes they looked like there was only two people in the room. Final moments captured.

Both Tory and I wish to express our sincere congratulations to Adrianne and Tom, it was a privilege and an honour to be a part of your special day!
