We first met Laura & Simon for a chat about their wedding and wishes on photography in Chester last year. After a short chat they booked us on the spot and signed along the dotted line. It is always a comfort and reassuring that your photography skills and winning personality are recognised enough for your client’s to look no further at other photographers.

The wedding day was bright, beautiful but more importantly for Laura; dry. With no bridal preparations to cover, Tory and I headed straight to the church to meet Simon and his best man Jack for some photos. We also had a quick chat with the priest who I must say was fantastic for allowing photographs to be taken of the wedding throughout the ceremony from any part of the church….so I made the most of it. A wee bit of advice; when choosing your location to get married be sure to discuss in detail their stance on photos during the ceremony, you don’t want to get married in a beautiful church spend £600+ for the privilege to find no photographs are allowed during the wedding….it’s a pet hate of ours (ours being photographers).

Cranage Hall is a great wedding venue to photograph in Cheshire with plenty of place for photos both inside and out; with such a bright and high contrasty day we took shelter under the trees for shots; this was to avoid heavy shadows under the eyes and nose, which I had to do again for the second shoot after the speeches much to our happy couples amusement thinking I have a thing for trees….I really don’t. It’s all about what’s best for the photographs people! Honest.

We like to add some fun to our group shots along side the more formal traditional photos so when Laura requested a heart shape photo including all her guests we were happy to oblige.  I had expected to take sometime organising the group but Jack (Simon’s brother and best man) took charge and bustled, ordered and shaped the heart before Tory had time to put down her clipboard! After shooting the rest of the formal shots it was time to add some of our own ideas.

It really does make us very happy to photograph weddings in Cheshire and the UK, we get to travel the country and spend time at such fantastic venues such as Cranage Hall and meet such lovely couples as Laura and Simon; we really could not ask for a better job!
