Personal Photography- Xmas 2010!
Now I know we’re in February but with two weddings on New Years weekend, and a constant stream of pre wedding meets for both this year and 2012, I have only just had the time to look through my Xmas photos.
My girlfriend (Tory) is from Sligo so each Christmas we make the perilous journey through the snow to go to her parents. They do Christmas in a big way so there is no chance their little girl isn’t going to be there! And I get the privilege of driving.
We could only stay for a few days, as I wanted to make sure we had plenty of time for the journey home as I had two weddings the following weekend; so unfortunately I was not able to take as many pictures as 2009 (please see my Flickr page in the ‘Other photos’ set, there is a link to the right of this blog) but we managed to go for a couple of walks around a beautifully frozen lake. I was able to shoot away whilst Tory walked Sam to keep herself amused as I spend an age photographing a leaf or something.
It wasn’t all lakes and scenery; Tory’s little niece Aleesha is growing up fast and her mischievous side is developing more and more so I had to get some shots of her, she sports my flat cap rather well I feel, she’s even trendy enough to sport it the wrong way round, very Jackie Brown!
Christmas day was fantastic, a huge feed provided by Tory’s dad with another session of cracker pulling of which I never win, yet I seem to get all the silly hats (hence the expression of disgust) then off to the living room to the sea of prezzies under the tree. Two hours later all the prezzies are open and time to relax with a whiskey and a smile!
It’s fantastic to get to photograph my adopted family and my beautiful girlfriend, sometimes I just don’t have the time to photograph those around me so Christmas is always an opportunity for me to do just that, even if its not to everyones liking!
With my first wedding of the year rapidly approaching I will have to take a break from personal projects. But as soon as I have time I’ll be sure to provide you with a few examples.
